A Straw-Bedded Pig

Less than 0.5% of pigs in the Dominican Republic are raised on straw bedding. This traditional method ensures animal welfare. The straw also provides enrichment and activity (rooting, playing). Carnicampo pigs are raised without antibiotic treatment (from 42 days of age onward).
